Are There Things I Can Do to Remember to Floss?

If you’re one who forgets to floss, it’s time to change your ways. Flossing is very important for your smile and oral health, which is why it’s very important to floss at least once a day. To help you remember to floss, our dentist, Dr. Kevin J. Reece, has some tips for you. It’s best to do the following things:

-Set a reminder for yourself: All you need to do is write a reminder on a sticky note and stick it to the bathroom mirror. You can also set a reminder on your phone or you can write a reminder on the calendar hanging up on your wall.

-Keep your floss by your toothbrush: Because you brush often, you can be reminded to floss if you place your dental floss next to the brush. You’ll see the floss and remember to clean the crevices of your smile after you’re done brushing.

-Keep floss handy: Sometimes flossing as part of the oral hygiene routine can be tough, so keep floss with you in your purse, backpack or briefcase. Seeing the floss throughout the day can remind you to floss and it can allow you to floss after lunch, before meetings or during work.
